Two journeys. One shared path.
Who we are — and what ZweiReisen is about.
We are Mali and Ben.
Mali is from Thailand, Ben from Germany. Our story began in Thailand in 2003 — a meeting on Phuket gradually became a life together.
More than two decades later, we know that a relationship between two cultures can be incredibly enriching. But love alone does not resolve every misunderstanding. We had to learn to understand each other, to stop taking every difference personally, and to keep moving forward together.
That is what ZweiReisen is about
We share stories about our relationship, Thailand and Europe, cultural differences, everyday life, travel, and the things we have learned along the way. This is not a guide to the perfect relationship.
We do not know the truth about intercultural relationships. We know our story.
Ben mainly writes from his perspective, always in conversation with Mali. About what worked well. About mistakes. And about the things we see differently today. Perhaps you will recognise something of your own life in our stories. Perhaps they will give you a new idea. Or perhaps you will simply join us for part of the journey.
